1. Data Controller & Overview
Camp Iceland (https://campiceland.is, contact: contact@campiceland.is) operates an informational travel guide for visitors to Iceland. Because we no longer process direct vehicle or equipment rental checkouts on our website, we do not collect or store customer names, passport numbers, driver's license numbers, or payment card details.
2. Cookies, Local Storage & Google Consent Mode v2
When you first visit Camp Iceland, our cookie banner lets you choose "Accept Analytics" (Google Analytics may set cookies) or "Essential Only" (Google Analytics storage and advertising storage stay denied via Google Consent Mode v2).
- Strictly Necessary Local Storage: We use your browser's
localStorageto remember your cookie choice (campiceland_cookie_consent_v1) and, if you use our interactive Packing Checklist, to save your checked items on your device (ci_packing_checklist_v1). This data never leaves your browser. - Google Analytics 4 (
G-75DBB3L8KX) and Google Ads tag (AW-386747819): The Google tag loads on every page in Consent Mode. Until you choose "Accept Analytics", it is instructed not to use analytics or advertising cookies. With consent, GA4 records usage statistics such as page views and outbound provider clicks. We do not send your name, email, or booking details to Google. - Travelpayouts Drive (
tpembars.com): We use Travelpayouts, a travel network, which requires its Drive script to be present on every page. This script loads for all visitors and may set its own identifiers so that bookings can be attributed to Camp Iceland. See the Travelpayouts privacy information for details. - External booking websites: Some links go to booking providers such as Go Car Rental Iceland (
gocarrental.is), Go Campers (gocampers.is), or Guide to Iceland (guidetoiceland.is). If you follow such a link, that website may set its own cookies according to its own privacy and cookie policy.
